faerie blood: sightings

So I’m still hanging in there in the Top 25 in Fantasy at Fictionwise! It’s been a month and change since I started paying attention, and I’ve gone from #18 up to #2, then fallen back to #22, only to boing back up to #19 as of last night. I’m quite curious now to see if I’ll go a whole two months clinging to the front page of the Fantasy rankings there. Also quite curious to know how much of this is from Fictionwise itself and how much from Fictionwise-related sites, like the Stanza bookstore or eReader.com.

Meanwhile, the folks over at The Plot Thickens, one of the Mobipocket partner sites who’re selling the book, have me up as a featured ebook of the month in Fantasy! Check it out!

They also noticed that I linked to their page for the book and kindly contacted me to offer me free author privileges if I make an account with them. So if any of you out there are fans of the Mobi format, you might consider popping by there to see if their store is to your liking. Tell ‘em I sent ya.

It’s been about a month now since Faerie Blood showed up on Fictionwise, and I’m pleased to observe that I’m still in the top 20 on the Fantasy list there. I’ve peaked at #2 and am as of tonight at least back down to #18, which is where I started when I first paid attention to this. I am up to 12 ratings on the site, most of which appear to be “Great”, and I’m apparently now also the best-selling Drollerie book in their database. 14 people total have added me on Goodreads, too, and I had a new and very nice review show up on Amazon.

All of which is pleasing! It’s all small potatoes, sure. But they’re my potatoes. And they’re tasty!

No sign of me yet on Barnes and Noble, although I do note that the other ebook called Faerie Blood that I’d previously sighted in Fictionwise’s database is over there now. Hopefully I won’t be too far behind!

So in a quick survey around the various ebook vending sites I’m aware of, I see the following things!

Over on Mobipocket I have apparently jumped back into the top 50 in the Fantasy section, on account of they have specials going on right now and Faerie Blood‘s one of the ones in the special offers list! So are several other Drollerie titles, for that matter, so if you’re interested in checking out other Drollerie authors besides me, and Mobi format is your thing, you may consider checking there.

On the Fictionwise set of sites (Fictionwise itself as well as Ebookwise and eReader.com), I seem to be holding steady at #2, right under Rachel Vincent! And at the EPIC bookstore, I’m hanging in there at #1. All of which is Category Awesome, particularly the Mobipocket thing, since jumping back up into the top 50 is pretty sweet; last time I’d checked, I was just over the 300 mark.

No sign of me on Barnes & Noble’s ebook site yet.

And again I say, to all of you who out there who may be contributing to these shiny positions, thank you very much and I hope you’re enjoying the book. ^_^

As of last night I’d jumped up to #6 on Fictionwise’s Fantasy list–but as of tonight? #5, baby! Now I’m in the box at the top of the page!

I am desperately, desperately curious about how many copies this means I’ve actually sold. I mean, let’s be realistic here–I’m an SF/F author and I’m selling in ebook form to boot, so my expectations here are not high. I’ll be stunned and pleased if overall I sell enough copies of this book to get that loverly, loverly Cargo guitar I’m swooning for (which, by the rough math, would require me to sell about 500 copies). For all I know, this ranking on Fictionwise’s list may mean I’ve sold 20 copies in the last twenty days and everybody below me is spread out all the way down to zip. *^_^*;;

I won’t know for sure probably until I get the pertinent royalty statement. Which may not be the first one; I don’t know what span of time that will cover. It may be royalty statement #2!

Till then, though, I’ll indulge myself with the egoboo. And again, anybody out there reading this who’s actually bought the book off of Fictionwise, thank you very much!

The Eludium PU-36 Explosive Space Modulator is–

No wait, wrong cartoon. This “At last!” is to report that Faerie Blood is finally, finally, available on Amazon! So those of you who have been waiting for it to show up in the Kindle store, now’s your chance to pick it up.

Meanwhile I am holding steady at #13 on Fictionwise’s list of best sellers in Fantasy, and I’ve picked up some ratings there as well.

And! I have my very first review by somebody who didn’t know me beforehand. Which makes my heart glow, especially the part where she liked that Kendis does not give a flying damn about expensive clothes.

Man, this keeps up, I might start feeling like, y’know, a writer.

So according to this page over here, I’m currently #18 on the list of Fictionwise’s bestsellers in the Fantasy genre, based on data slurped up over the last 20 days. I have no earthly idea what this means in terms of actual hard numbers of copies sold, but still, it’s pretty nifty. And it’s causing me a bit of cognitive dissonance just to see myself appearing on a page that also includes the words ‘Best Sellers in Fantasy’, ‘Lilith Saintcrow’, ‘Mercedes Lackey’, ‘Charlaine Harris’, and ‘Rachel Caine’. *^_^*;;

This should make my first royalty statement interesting reading, anyway! It would seem to indicate that somebody out there is indeed buying my little book. To all of you who have done so, I thank you!

And, for posterity, got a couple of screenshots!

It took me a few days to retool the plot flow for “The Blood of the Land”, but now I have a decent idea of how the rest of it will play out, and hopefully in fewer words than my original plan. As of tonight I’ve resumed throwing words at the story and hope to make significant inroads on it this weekend. Editor has been updated and will expect the story at the end of the month. Wish me luck, folks.

Meanwhile, eReader.com joins the ranks of places where you can buy Faerie Blood, so the list of places for purchase has been updated accordingly on my Books page and on the FAQ page. Yay. Now if Amazon and Barnes and Noble will follow suit, that’ll be neat. ^_^

Written tonight: 290
The Blood of the Land total: 4,126

Looks like Fictionwise finally has Faerie Blood for sale!

I’m still not showing up on their Stanza store yet, or on Amazon, but now at least I’m on Fictionwise. So if somebody reading this hasn’t bought the book yet, you have another option through which to do so!

ETA 2:13pm: No whoops, wait, I’m on the Stanza store, too! So those of y’all using Stanza to read ebooks on your iPhones, there you go!

I now actually show up in the search results if you look for “Faerie Blood Angela Korra’ti” on Amazon. I have me an actual Amazon page right here. It says “not yet available” on it, though. Which is vexing, since neither my editor nor I know yet exactly when the book will be available!

Those of you who have read the book already, though, if you feel inclined, you can maybe start encouraging things along. Drop ratings up there, reviews, tags, whatever you feel is appropriate! Now that there’s an actual page there data can be added!

Meanwhile, over on Fictionwise, they think I’m on the way, too. Those of you who have accounts on that system, feel free to keep an eye there too!

More data on both of these when I have it.

The magic Google Alert gnomes have informed me that Faerie Blood is for sale on at least three different Mobipocket partner sites: The Plot Thickens (where I am apparently one of the books of the month), CyberRead, and a site in the Netherlands!

This is really kind of cool. Sort of the online equivalent of seeing my work on the shelf in a brick-and-mortar bookstore!

And yet, there’s no sign of me on Amazon yet. Gah!

Faerie Blood has now made it into the database up on Goodreads, and it wasn’t even entered in by me! There it is right there with cover art and everything! I’ve jumped on it to see about getting myself associated with the book entry as its author, which should be neat and stuff. You’ll see me with a star by my name as soon as they set that up for me. In the meantime, I stuck the feed for angelakorrati.com in on the author profile data associated with the book, since I have librarian access on the site.

Y’all will have to pardon me while I have me another whomperjaw moment, and sternly remind myself not to be checking Amazon every five minutes to see whether I’ve shown up there too!
