Here’s another shot for y’all to win Faerie Blood if you’re up for it–but this time, the contest is being held by my beloved solarbird, who has finished a work EP for her forthcoming very first CD, to be titled Dick Tracy Must Die! Dara is recording every track on this thing singlehandedly, including vocals, bodhran, bouzouki, mandolin, flute, bass, and other instrumenty goodness. I am, frankly, in awe that she’s made herself sound like an entire band.

But she has! And she is Crime and the Forces of Evil! And her contest, wherein she’ll put folks into a drawing to win either a copy of her EP, a copy of my book, or a picture of our cats is over here. Check it out, and fear not, you can tell the Forces of Evil I sent you.

Okay all, here we go with the official What Should Anna Name Her Nook? poll! Here are the rules:

1. If you’re reading this anywhere besides angelakorrati.com, please click through to the original post to cast your vote. As always, I’m putting it on my official site to accommodate non-LJ or LJ-site-like users who don’t have the ability to answer polls in LJ-style sites without being members of them.
2. Although this might be self-evident, if you want to vote, do please actually cast your vote in the poll. Votes cast in the comments will not count, and that also goes for votes cast in the comments of any mirrors of the original post.
3. All voters may cast up to three votes for their favorite choices.
4. The poll will remain open until midnight, March 1st, Pacific/Cascadia time.
5. The winner of the poll will be announced on March 1st, and will be given three days to get their contact data to me so that I can arrange to get them their prize! If I don’t hear from the winner in that time frame, I’ll move on to whoever was next in line with the vote count. (However, if that occurs, I retain authorial privilege to keep the original winning name for the Nook if I so prefer.)

And to review the prizes, the winner may have one of three things, their choice:

1. Free electronic copies of both Faerie Blood and Defiance, in the format of their choice. I have PDFs of both immediately available, and ePub for Faerie Blood. I can also get copies in Microsoft Reader, Mobipocket, and Sony Reader formats.
2. A free print copy of any Drollerie Press book currently available.
3. A $25 gift certificate to the Drollerie Press bookstore.

Folks, I would now like to take this opportuity to announce the winner of my October Drollerie Review Drawing Contest! I had a total of five participants who checked in, four of whom did reviews in various places, and one of whom rated me on Fictionwise. So without further ado, the random number generator announces that the winner is… Lexie!

Folks, I have decided to hold a companion contest to go along with the poll to name my iPhone! This one will be for everybody who did NOT get a name into the poll. However, what makes it a companion contest is that I want to see supporters for various names campaign for their favorites!

Rules as follows:

1. The stakes are the same: the winner will receive either a copy of Faerie Blood, or, if he or she owns it already, a copy of the book of their choice from the Drollerie Press bookshop.
2. Campaigns should be in the form of drabbles (100 words of prose, for those of you who don’t know that term), LOLpics (with or without cats), filks, rousing campaign speeches, or whatever else comes to mind! Bonus points if you invoke any of my known fandoms*. Extra bonus points if you invoke anything having to do with Faerie Blood, for those of you who have read it already.
3. Campaigns must be for names that are in the actual poll. No fair campaigning for a name that’s not actually in the running!
4. Please post your campaign material in the comments of this post (at angelakorrati.com, if you’re reading this on LJ or anywhere else I mirror to).
5. If you have a name entered into the poll, you are not eligible to participate in this contest. You are however welcome to shamelessly rally your supporters to your cause!
