  • What have you written?

    Faerie Blood, through Drollerie Press, is my first published novel. It is now available for purchase on drolleriepress.com.

  • What do you write in general?

    Faerie Blood is urban fantasy, and I have another work in progress in that same genre. I am however also working on an epic fantasy trilogy, and a couple of standalone science fiction novels. Additionally, I have one short 8K fantasy piece I’ve written, and will be doing another short piece set during the Civil War in the Faerie Blood universe. (More on this last when it happens!)

  • Where can I buy it?

  • What format is it available in?

    Faerie Blood‘s initial release is electronic, but there are a variety of formats available. On Drollerie’s own site, you may buy it in PDF, Microsoft Reader, ePub, Sony, and Mobipocket format. It’s available on Amazon for the Kindle. Fictionwise has it in all that site’s available formats. The various other sites I link to above are Mobi partner sites and therefore sell in Mobi format as well.

  • Ebooks are difficult for me to read/I prefer print books. Will there be a print version?

    Most likely. However, this has not been scheduled yet. Drollerie’s operating budget is quite small, so its print releases lag heavily behind the electronic ones; I don’t expect a print version before late 2010 at the earliest. If you’re anxious to see a print version of this book, the best thing you can do to help out is to buy the electronic version, and spread the word to friends who may be interested in reading it.

  • Is your name really Angela Korra’ti?

    Yes.

  • What kind of name is that?

    “Difficult to pronounce.” –my partner, Dara

  • No, really, what kind of name is that?

    Here’s the thing: I was born “Angela Highland”. I still answer to “Angie” for the sake of my relatives and oldest friends; I also use “Angela” to sign my checks and that’s usually what people call me at work.

    I get “Korra’ti” from my aforementioned partner. I took her last name as mine when we married, so that there would be two of us in the world. It’s pronounced “kor-uh-TEE”, accent on the third syllable, roll the R’s. Mostly, though, I answer to “Anna”. It’s easier to pronounce and easier to type.

  • Cool, what nationality is ‘Korra’ti’?

    Short form: We don’t know.

    Slightly longer form: my partner doesn’t know who her parents were and therefore doesn’t know the origins of her name. Our best guesses so far have been “Finnish”, since we’ve found references to versions of the name in Finnish on Google; “Croatian,” from a linguist at the University of Kentucky; and “Hungarian,” from a pizza delivery guy. The latter of which might strike one as an odd source for linguistic information, but he said he was Hungarian and knew Korra’tis in Hungary, so.

    Some variety of the name does therefore seem to be out there.
