Soon Kestar too becomes a fugitive, and Faanshi must risk her newfound freedom to find him and break the bond that haunts them both. Loath to surrender her to his Church, Kestar must choose between the vows he swore and the urgings of his honor–and no matter what his choice, risk bringing the wrath of the being he worships down upon them all.

Her discovery of the feral hunter Benja sends shockwaves through her colleagues, family, and friends, and Kai must call upon every talent she possesses to measure the scope of his own unique gifts and determine if he is friend or foe. But as she delves into the truth of Benja’s past, she makes a far more dangerous discovery: that his identity is a secret that can rip the fragile, forming alliance between the peoples on Nereus apart.

As Shen helps him begin to uncover what he’s lost, her escape from Khilann turns into a search across the galaxy for secrets certain forces want kept buried. And soon she and Tance discover that the answers they seek could bring peace to a war-torn world… or cost them both their lives.

In the wake of near-destruction at the hands of the entity called the Anreulag, Kestar vows to surrender to his Church, Faanshi seeks a home among the elven rebels of the realm, and Julian is rattled to his very core to find his lost eye and hand restored by Faanshi’s rising power. Haunted by guilt and by the maiden who has healed them both, the knight and the assassin each journey to Dareli. But Faanshi, eveIn as she works to tame her magic, will let neither of them go alone. For the elves have learned the secret of Kestar’s lineage, Faanshi that of Julian’s past–and if the elves are to gain freedom for their people, they must win both Hawk and Rook to their side. It falls to the healer to lead a search for the two men growing increasingly vital to her heart and soul, before Kestar is destroyed by his own search for absolution… and Julian by his quest for revenge.
