I can see you that and raise you "I sat on my flute the summer of my sophomore year in high school!" I was <i>crushed</i>. So was the flute, unfortunately! I bent it just badly enough that the thing wouldn't play anymore, and scuttled my chances of being a music major, since I couldn't afford to get a decent instrument before I got into college and got myself my own job. But hey, it's all good, and I eventually found instruments with strings anyway! Ooh, I know how you must have felt when your violin broke. You reminded me of a discussion I got into with my fiance a couple days ago, where he was watching something on PBS (the conductor was driving me nuts so I was in the other room) and we started talking afterwards about "the music that made you love music" -- I couldn't find an answer.
